Had the car gone past the chance of being put back to OEM original spec? Stock Vets in that style hold very good value.

Agree, if it was a matching number Vette I would do a restoration every day of the week, you can probably tell from the photos, this one was heading for the bone yard!

The problem with 50 year old fibreglass is, well it 50 years old, most of the front end had been bashed at some stage or was beginning to blow! Some major surgery is required, a front end transplant, trust me this is not for the faint hearted, fibreglass requires skills that are not easily found around here!

I pulled the front end off and sourced new panels from the US. I already had the inner fenders, so needed to order the hood surround, nose and various bonding strips.

Note to self: Next time order the complete pre bonded front assembly, saves many hours!

Awesome project.

What is the brake system you went for????

Also, how did you go with the fibre glass stuff from the US??? Was it any good??? I have had heaps of problems in the past, the fibre glass stuff they make is rubbish useless you can find one of the few experts over there.

Surely that modern Corvette motor would be way, way more than the 56 year old chassis can handle?
