Any word on whether there'll be a manual offered in the RS to match the new GT3, or will they be PDK only?

The RS is to be PDK only I believe.

I've heard (only a rumour) that the GT3 RS will be offered in two versions.

Full spec - PDK, big wing etc
Touring - big wing replaced by small ducktail or electrically activated spoiler, and the option of a manual.

We should know by Frankfurt motor show!

They claim PDK only on the RS. But no doubt they will do another special edition  for  big $$$

Yup as per my speculation above.

That would be the perfect car IMO

Fairly sure that test car is actually a GT2 RS contrary to the reporting, imo it's too early for the 3RS.2 to be testing in that little camo and hood scoops seem more aggressive, a la gt2.

I also remember reading people spied a touring option for the GT3.2 on the german configurator which would make more sense... expect that to come a little later. If they're going PDK only for best track performance on the RS, doubt they'd put a lesser spoiler (ducktail) on for worse aerodynamics. Touring is also speculated to have back seats instead of roll cage.

Gt2 RS has a much more aggressive rear bumper and different wing.

Not disputing anything you said, but maybe the ducktail option is being bandied about to cater to a sector of the market who may want it, even if it means aerodynamics and all-out performance are sacrificed slightly.

After all, they've adopted the same approach by putting a manual gearbox in the 991.2 GT3 for the purists, even though it's slower by 0.5 seconds from 0-100

They won't dilute the RS, the GT3 maybe, but not the RS.  They will be big winged and specced for speed for sure.
