like usual, we ran the car for an hour, no faults.

so now we change a heap of things like engine loom, throttle bodies, kill switches on the bonnet, battery etc.

sent the dash display, pcm and dash panel with all the switches to germany and england for testing and loading of the latest software.

shakedown is jan 20 then off to bathurst.

just want to have a solid weekend at bathurst, and not hit anymore wildlife.

choc thunder said he had a similar issue at PI recently in the old MM car that i sold to him recently. i told him i never had  cutting out issues on that chassis. his guy did an upgrade at the track, the issue went away.

do you know of something else my friend?

how's pete enjoying the bentley?

His guy was me and it's the same thing I did to fix Teds car at the Bathurst Sports Car Festival in 2010. Switch panel fault sends a bunch of erroneous crap over the bus and locks up various things. Really hard to find without a CAN sniffer and a lot of patience. Another car fault that would have otherwise been blamed on the driver, like the 512kmh ABS fault that ze Germans knew nothing about.

but I don't understand why my original chassis never had this fault during 2 1/2 hard years?

It's only happened recently.

How good is chocs car now? Way better than when I bought it.

Yeah, it's a funny fault. They didn't believe me at first, even after the manufacturers of the switch panel admitted an issue. They didn't release a "fix" until April of this year, officially.

It's a whole lot better than then and light years away from when it turned up from Asia. I'm still not real happy with the shocks and the engine mappings all over the shop but it's still a good car.
