Have'nt been to an Adelaide car show since the 80's...

Then yesterday got a (special  ) invite to the 'Lotus Preview' which will be at the show this year.  This is being held just prior to the show's opening to the general public.

just googling around and stumbled on this...

The Adelaide Motor Show is being held at the Wayville Showgrounds.

The show features more than 250 vehicles worth in excess of 30 million dollars.

The main attraction is Australia's first Super Car powered by Australia's first ever all-aluminium V8 engine. The 6.8 litre motor can generate 500hp and is expected to achieve 0-100km/h in under three seconds.

Open Saturday 10am-10pm & Sunday 10am-6pm.

Australia's First Super Car. The Joss Super Car designed by Matt Thomas is still 18 months away from full production and will have a price tag of $500,000.

went for a look last night. apart from the Lambo's (and 4 of the 6 were on last Sunday's run anyway) it wasn't worth the $14 each for entry. we're looking to replace Cheryl's car and wanted to check a few things out but no BMW, Porsche, Volvo (who cares?), Aston Martin, Jaguar or Ducati, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and a few others. oh well, narrowed it down to Golf GTi or Audi A3 Sports Wagon thing. depends on what she likes when she drives them. there was lots and lots of cars that you can see in ant supermarket car park though.

it's funny, if it were "just" a little Lamborghini show i'd probably pay the $14 bucks to get up close and personal, but being the Lambo part is only a little bit of it and there's nothing else much interesting there, don't know if i could be bothered.  it'd be worth it just to get up close n personal with the Countach again    also looking forward to checking out that Diablo SE.

Just a little ol' country town car show.  It's never been much.

Re: the Europa - To me it's just an extended Elise.  There's a run organised on Sun morn with the new car plus the other Loti mob.

  They've sort of painted themselves into a corner - having to name all their cars beginning with an 'E'.  Looks like the same problem with the new Esprit, which they're going to call......   Esprit

ah ok.  you might know Les (NSX on here), he's in with some of the Lotus folk and doing a run sunday morning.  most of the rest of the crowd were out last week on the Lambo run and their cars have been confiscated (for this show) or are otherwise busy, but PM him for details.  few other Lotus folk reg'd here too, at least 4 others that i know of...
