Hey guys,

Just looking at purchasing my first lamborghini, A gallardo 2004 manual with 45,000kms on the clock.
The vehicle is a uk import but registered in australia.
I have been watching the market for this car for 2 years and feel like i am getting a good buy.
I plan to take the car to lamborghini to do a inspection on it, but just wondering which other things i should be cautious of and look out for before parting with my money?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I hope you bargained very hard on it as it'll be hell to onsell in future. Import Gallardo's are a tough gig.

C'mon, do it!

I'd be pushing into the 120's for an import - you shouldn't have much competition as no-one wants to finance them - double check with your insurer that they are happy too, import exotics are not as easy to get coverage for.
C'mon, do it!

Save up more money and buy an Aussie spec car.
I love my car. Buy your own

Talk to BenC ... he bought an import and had to deal with some issues form the previous owner, so he's quite switched on when it comes to the Gallardo.

Doesn't sound like that good a deal. Same money will probably get you an Aussie spec car.

Thanks for the feedback. You cant seem to get much at all for under $150k with similar kms? are all these ones that are selling taking a fair hit in the negotiations? What are the advantages of the aus spec one? do Lamborghini still look after you just as well? I had a US Malibu boat and Malibu australia wouldnt touch it.

To be honest ... I wouldn't be relying on Lamborghini to look after you ... there are more specialist ex-LAmbo mechanics around who know more than the Lambo "Audi" mechanics and will do a quality job at a cheaper price.  I personally have looked after my own servicing to date, with the help/advice of a couple of ex-Lambo mechanics.

And yes ... typically about 25-30% seems to be lopped off the prices in negotiations ... depends on rarity and quality of the vehicle being negotiated and whether he's got a number of buyers lined up ... which I doubt for a 2004 Gallardo import.

I wonder if Gallardo and 360 Modenas have bottomed out on price now. Maybe we will see them at $80k like 308's years ago.
