Oh sorry - I wasn't clear.
This happened in January. The car was only 5,000km old, and Audi Centre Melbourne had never had an R8 in for service - let alone need this level of warranty work done. That's why it took so long.

It seems to be something wrong with the pressure in the gearbox.
As soon as the oil pressure in the gearbox drops it automatically informs the cam system to lock your car to prevent further damage. I know this has happened up s friend of mine.

I  not saying its the gearbox itself but a chamber connected to the gearbox. Any release of pressure will trigger what you have experienced.
