A Lamborghini sports car was ripped apart in a head-on collision in Melbourne overnight.

The 2010 car, worth more than $300,000, was wrecked in the crash on Alexander Ave.

Police said the car collided with a Holden sedan about 1.30am.

Thats the Lambo I spotted. I was walking down city rd Southbank approx 3am. It was hardly 'ripped apart' from what I saw but I didn't get a fantastic look.

EDIT just saw the rest of the pics, it's pretty demolished! I saw the Holden as well, looked like a VT clubsport

Such a shame, was a very new car, and I have spotted it 3 times in the last month, twice in the city and once about 5 mins drive from my house! Was looking forward to seeing it again :( Glad everyone was ok though! Hopefully he pics up a replacement asap..

It might not have been the one you've seen, according to the Herald Sun the damaged one was a 2010 model.
