I think they have to to keep the cost down.

Could you imagine the cost of exotics if everything was unique.  The tooling costs alone would blow the overall cost of the car out.

My crappy old 308 has a multitude of different parts in it.  Hence its unreliablility.  Including I think the electric window switches which looked like they were from BMW based on the logo on the bottom?????

sure they cant take them home, but im sure they have a lot of pride in creating a legend. the whole assembly thing sucks, but it keeps them in a job.
