SL at $660K is way too much for an old design tarted up.
$660k full price, not what you'd buy one for.

Either way, too much for what it is.

Where does that put values of the current SL's on the market.  Is there a big step up in performance from your opinion?  Anything that stood out for you.
i haven't driven an older model SL but for me, the new car looks way better, prettier tail lights, more aggresive front bar, prettier rims, looks great in green. the car is very nice to drive, gear changes are smooth though inside is a tighter fit than in a murcie.

as for price, with each new variant to the old body pushes prices down on previous models of the same body.

we've had the original G, then G SE, then the upgraded G with more HP, then G NERA, G SL, G balboni, G 570, G 570 SL, G 550, G spider.

any others i've missed jim501?

too many variants of the same body.

as least with the 458, you have the coupe, spider then a scud. much better for ownership and value.

Went and had a look today, of the three colours you'd have to go green! Looked great, the white looked nice but not SL enough and the Grey is alright but not striking enough. The $665k includes everything, engine bay carbon, lift, the whole kit kaboodle. Dealer was taking it down the coast tonight to show someone who will most likely take it as he's only real requirements were that it was green! lol

Thanks Scud.  I like the current SL but based on what you're saying the 430 Scud is a better option not that I'm buying.  :D   I didn't realise that there were that many derivatives of the Gallardo.

Without a large following of owners of previous models like the V8 Ferrari, the Gallardo has/had its work cut out. Every sale was a conquest sale. The early G's didn't drive as well as the F430 so refreshed variants were the only way of maintaining interest. Every new variant cruels the resale of the model before it.

Still love 'em though. :)
