I'm talking about this vid. You can see where the timer starts and finishes but they aren't the same place.

From Wiki:

A full lap of the Nordschleife, bypassing the modern GP track, is 20.832 km (12.944 mi) long. Most laps are completed 200 metres (656 ft) shorter for safety reasons. Full uninterrupted flying laps can only be done in closed sessions and race events like Castrol-Haugg-Cup.

Haven't watched the video but is it the 'bridge to gantry' time? That is how general lap times are often measured there due to the access point down the main straight. From memory the 918 time was a full point to point lap (only possible with exclusive track access).

Thanks for posting, I thought he looked pretty relaxed & it looked stable to me for a road car, I'd suggest it only got ever so slightly untidy a couple of times in the slower corners because he was pushing hard, he made 325ks & I reckon it looked good everywhere for a road car at those speeds

never seen anyone work as hard as this guy on the ring

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6Thomd4BQg

That really does show the difference in modern day cars & tyres, he was working seriously hard & at times probably slower lap time wise by hanging out the tail as he did, but awesome driving on that era car

has the P1 lap time been published yet?

It's so good McLaren are refusing to publish it.

Looking forward to someone else doing it.

Does it matter what the p1 did. They're all within 3sec of each other on a 7m lap. That's absolutely nothing. A gust of wind or rain the night before might make a bigger difference.

If it were 3sec at a 1:25 lap, then that's more of a story
