Lamborghini xmas gift line-up....

Italian Dressing: Lamborghini Introduces a Black-and-White-Themed Gift Line

SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy — A black-and-white Christmas? Lamborghini eschews the traditional red and green for a lineup of gift items that match the black and white color scheme of the Gallardo LP560-4. They are designed for people who believe in "celebrating Christmas - fast,'" the automaker says.

The Lamborghini gift selection includes three ceramic ornaments — one in Nero Noctis matte black, two in Mono Cerus matte white — priced at $71, and two slow-burning candles, one black and one white, for $56. Seat cushions with the Lamborghini logo embroidered on them ($40) are also sold in black and white.

"Younger Lamborghini fans" are targeted with a polar bear — not exactly the creature one imagines when thinking of Italy or sports cars — dressed in a black Lamborghini-logo sweater. They are priced at $33 for the small bear and $56 for the large. All prices are pretax.

Calendars and holiday cards are also available from the Collezione Automobili Lamborghini, as well as the year-round selection of clothing, accessories, office items and luggage with the Lamborghini logo on them.

All are available to order online, as well as from Lamborghini dealers.

Inside Line says: The "spirit of the world's most desirable super sports car," as Lamborghini puts it, is somewhat hard to find in this otherwise charming group of gifts. — Laura Sky Brown, Correspondent

FANCY a Lamborghini in your garage, but can’t quite meet the £140,000 asking price?

The answer to your dreams could be at the supermarket, rather than at a raging bull showroom.

British grocers Tesco has started selling Lamborghini bicycles through its catalogue service and online. The two-wheeler, which wears the legendary badge, is designed and built by the company owned by Ferrucio Lamborghini’s son, Tonino. It’s a 21-speed hybrid that’s meant for roads and trails, and is finished in stylish sunrise yellow.

It carries a price tag of £160 – so you could buy nearly 900 of them for the price of one Gallardo. But trying to match the car’s 0-60mph sprint times with pedal power might prove to be a dream too far.

Ahh leave Tonino to it, he has been doing it for years, frangrances, clothing, sunglasses. Pretty much anything. Got nothing to do with Lambo SpA but doesn't help I guess.

Yeah that's the car company but it isn't too bad. I can handle a few things, now the Asus computers are pushing it.

Can't afford the car? How about a cap?

Luxury brand increases licenses

A $42 ball cap with the Lamborghini logo might not have the same impact as the butter-soft leather seats, velvety suede dash and the engine hum of a Gallardo Spyder.

The cap doesn't have the super sports car's $221,000-plus-tax price tag either.

But both send the same message, Lamborghini's licensing division manager said at a Lamborghini fashion show Monday at the Detroit auto show.

"Lamborghini is a brand that is very, very appealing," said Maria Lucia Lazzarini, manager of the company's licensing division, ArtiMarca. "It's extreme, it's luxury, it's uncompromising. Of course, we're very famous for the cars. But you can have the same values with the products."

Lamborghini is going to keep pushing into the licensing market with products like branded racing games, cell phones and laptops, Lazzarini said.

In the latest sales figures available, Lamborghini's 2007 car sales revenue was $624.1 million. In the same year, ArtiMarca sold $14.16 million in shirts, coats, hats and accessories.

"We continue to add to the range, and it's an important revenue stream," Lamborghini spokeswoman Juliet Jarvis said. The latest addition: black playing cards with a gold Lamborghini crest for $32. All items are available at dealers, like Lamborghini of Troy, Jarvis said.
