Quote
Lamborghini has joined in on the recent trend among carmakers with the announcement it will be recalling models from their flagship Murcielago range.

The recall will affect 428 Murcielago Coupe and Roadster variants produced between 2007 and 2008. As issue has been found within the Murcielagos fuel delivery system that could see the 210mph (338km) supercar catch fire.

Faulty supports holding the fuel pump have been found as the cause of the problem. The concern is that if these supports were to fail a fuel leak could result and potentially the Murcielago could catch fire.

Official recalls will begin in June with Lamborghini dealers carrying out necessary repairs at no cost to owners. It is not confirmed if Australian-delivered Lambos have been affected though owners are advised to contact Lamborghini to confirm.

Catching fire is cause for a recall???  I thought that was a standard supercar feature?

you're joking?

indeed

surely it'd be cheaper (for lambo warranty dept) to send the tech to Adelaide and install/fix whatever?

The car is 12 months out of warranty. What manufacturer pays you to get your car to service centre? None I've dealt with.

BMW covered all costs with my subframe Inc shipping to the crash repairer and back and the car was 1.5yrs out of warranty.

Regardless since soliatare don't do it, lambo should step up considering it's a recall. Service fair enough

Oh, they didn't sell you an extension?

Did they try?

This is a recall anyway..., not warranty, no?

Ferrari are doing an exactly similar in a non identical way recall on 355 at the moment... 15 years old cars... all for free.... Fuel fitting part poorly designed being replaced for better design (less prone to human error).
