Does the Superleggera have a clear plastic engine cover instead of the glass which normal Gallardos could option for?
You can say I'm wrong, but my garage doesn't agree with that statement!!!

Curiously, the GT3 race car comes with a glass rear cockpit window....

Not according to Lamborghini and my personal Superlaggera contact here in Sydney. I can not see other part numbers for the engine cover also, the only one being part number: 408827631A which is $1,303.81 incl GST and gasket according to Lambo Australia price list.

$1300 for the glass cover from lambo Australia. The part number 408827631A is the right part number for a normal gallardo, but part number 403827631 is for the superlegera which is the plastic part. normal replacement gallardo glass cover costs roughly 400 and the apparent same part for the superleggera is 3600. that tells me it isn't the same part or materials even though the two parts sheets I have come across both say the superlegera has a glass cover. The glass cover is close to a $20k optional extra from lambo Sydney when new.

$1300 is quite a reasonable price from Lambo Australia, they must be stuck with them as very few cars were ordered with the glass cover and are wanting to clear space.

Yeah, not sure, both parts are glass, both the same size, there may be little weight savings by reducing thickness, but no one at lambo in AU can confirm for me.
