Firstly... Is it just me... or am I right in thinking that the 348 and the Lotus are only worth a fraction of the LP640 anyway... so the money doens't make MUCH difference? You'll need to sell both cars AND chip in a huge chunk of change....

And then you'll have only one special car.... and then it'll be in for repairs, service, mods, general fucking about.... every time you need/want to use it!

Keep the Lotus (it's special) , sell the 348 (it's nice enough to get good money, but not special enough).

AND, The kiwi could bring the Diablo over, and drive it here (tax free in fact), but then he must return it OR pay all the tax/duties and do the compliance, before selling it.

I say simply save a while longer, sell the 348, then buy the 640 or one like it as soon as fund spermit.

Ouch, that's a bit like calling someone's child ugly.

True, better to have multiple cars in for repairs at one time. That's my strategy.

Now THATS interesting, there is a way round RAWS then?

I'm not sure what spermit is. Can't help but have an image of an excited frog.
C'mon, do it!

I'm not sure either but I reckon funding spermit isn't the way to go. From what I've heard, it can end up costing a lot more than a new car.

I dont' need to sell any car to get a Diablo. I do need to sell if I'd get a LP640.

That Kiwi car is great looking, that's for sure.

Its really not hard to see how much you love the diablo's... Im sure if you wait long enough, buy the right car, and work your magic on it, you will end up with ever mans dream garage! Lotus x2, lambo, ferrari...

thanks mhh and uberman, for making my thoughts much clearer!  :D

Fund spermit.... it's all about ti ming  :tilt: ( I think Ti Ming is Malaysian, and very cute.)

No, RAWS cannot be circumnavigated. The kiwi would have to put through RAWS. I think the kiwi car would have to go to bond storage and then released/"imported" by RAWS, rather than actually export it home to NZ..... after he'd finished his personal use over here.

So we're back to Mondi's earlier note:

Mondi - "And the other bugger is: the Diablo has no RAWS listing which means there is no way to import one unless it's as a PI."

Soooo - the NZ owner would seem to have had it long enough to qualify, the issue then is how long, or whether it needs to be a permanent migration to AU to bring it in. Are Visa requirements for NZ'ers simpler then other countries for AU entry? (Just thinking out loud here from a vague recollection that NZ'ers can claim certain AU benefits more quickly than other visitors?)
C'mon, do it!

We don't need a Visa, just show up and stay as long as we want.

Need an immigration specialist for this problem it looks like.... that's the tipping point for PI being doable. This might work then, due to the specificity of NZ immigration?
C'mon, do it!
