Brilliant Ash, you got some writing skillz!

I think we should start a motoring magazine together - you write, I take photos, and we sleep together in the cars.  :scared:

Very entertaining story Ash.  Great creative metaphors!

I love the Snowys.  Back in winter '07, on a trip from Canberra to Melbourne, I drove through the Snowys in the Prelude via Coomba, Orbost, Cann River, Lakes etc in 8 hours flat.   Apart from my trip to Tassie, it was one of the greatest drives of my life.  Some of the most exhilarating sweeping bends you'll find through stunning forests, mountains and farmland partially hidden by clouds of mist.   Those roads would be plenty of fun in summer, but the snow, ice and water on the road meant you really have to keep your wits about you = 50% exhillariting driving + 50% fear.

Excellent write up and photos, I haven't read anything from a car magazine that is on par with that in a long while.

Gunna buy one now?

Great yarn, Ash.  It must have been the ride to Melbourne in the Porsche that put you in the mood.

Good to hear that the Exige attracted admiring glances from the car-starved rurals along the route, although I don't think it gets sufficient forecourt valet respect if you couldn't get a bed in a caravan park.  :D

But seriously, it sounds a blinder of a car.

Good work Ash - now you know - want to buy a black one?

Ah - it's almost sold alas...

You've got the gift mate - so perhaps you'll find more requests rolling in.
Are you still using that small squat black camera you've had for ages to take those shots? Very impressive if you are!

Keep in touch stranger.
