52k for you al for a quick sale!

Go away vile temptress   :)

A link to your car's on the office intranet now - that means 140 overpaid IT nerds will see it Monday morning. I'll tell them I saw an article where Angelina Jolie said she'd root a guy with a car like that   :)
C'mon, do it!

I have an offer from a guy interstate
How does selling privately usually work with respect to direct deposit, not meeting the person and going to your bank with him etc.
Who signs the rego papers?

Scanned copies of licenses and other ID?
Escrow?

You agree to hand over the car when his money is in your account.  You don't need to meet him.

Re reg -  it's on the back of your reg form.

+1 - i personally wouldn't be happy with bank cheques either - cold hard cleared cash in ur account before u handover ur car!

as for transfer - all DTEI care about is time of disposal and ability to identify new owner!

Is he coming over to collect it? I've bought/sold cars at the bank. Both times we had the same bank. Went in, they performed the transfer etc... Signed the paperwork, done

Still waiting for him to get back to me
He made what sounded like a credible offer, in well written English!
Didn't sound like he was going to come and get it himself

Sounds like a typical Carsales scam to me.  All the cars I've sold in the last couple of years I've had requests for a 'friend' to pick up the car and some sort of dodgy funds transfer.

Rules are simple.  Cash in hand, or confirmed EFT direct to your nominated account before keys are handed over.
