Yes, fair point. You know your Lotus history! The Elise is the embodiment of "lightness is next to godliness". I'm thinking I'll keep my eye out for an SE though. I like the low down torquey engine and it has looks to die for IMHO. I keep reading the Elise is such a hard edged car that one can tire of it. For sure it has exceptional handling - if I could afford an Esprit and an Elise I would have both. But alas......

Thanks. They're both great cars and you won't go wrong with either (agree that it would be lovely own both as they're both fun but sufficiently different experiences). Just be diligent and thorough during the buying process. A few of the guys here really know their Esprits. Good luck!

That would be great. Thanks for the offer. Is that an S4 you have?

State and national concours winning S4s and the last genuine GT300 left in the world, also in concours condition. Previously owned 4 other Esprits.

An Elise is not a true Lotus? You sure about that? My guess is you've not heard of Colin Chapman, either. The Elise is quintessential lotus. The truest road going Lotus since the Élan (no, not the front wheel drive one).

Who are you?!?!?!!?    :p

Very nice indeed. I saw the GT300 on the Lotus Club Victoria website. Do Lotus Cars want to buy it back? haha. I heard they sold a bunch of cars when things were difficult financially? The S4s has to be the best Esprit, you are a lucky man!
