Hard to track / trace history.

Couldn't find any recent history on the UK DVLA website.  No history on the Esprit registry.

Obviously a dealer selling as he has no idea about the car.

Possible rebuild from 'something'.

I wouldn't expect much.

Not sure if I'm a "know it all" but I've been watching boxy (70-80) Esprit's for about ten years, and I am intimately aware of the market of 70's/80's cool cars.

In my unprofessional opinion - if this car is ACTUALLY in the condition it appears in the photo AND runs well, it's easily worth $15-25k. If it were well cared for and actually looks as good in the metal in every angle as it does in that one pic then wow I would grab it.

I'm guessing there's a reason they only showed one photo etc.

Is it worth checking out just so you have an idea about some Esprit's? I remember you were eager to check some out, but there were non for sale in Qld to take a look.

Just having one picture with UK plates seems a bit odd. Maybe it was imported and then trying to sell it off. I assume more headaches if it has not been registered in Australia yet?

You don't see many S1 or S2's come up. Most people want the turbo.

This is what I would have thought.

What was the verdict?

well its a very long story,

but by the sounds of it a very solid car, its from a collection of around 50 cars.

however i was bedridden over the weekend when i was to go and look at it (5 days of the worst illness ive had in years :(  )

but i dont know what it is, whether its my stage in life, or the fact i've got some different priorities right now, but i've kind of decided that i'm 'over' cars.  when it came down to spending even this small amount on a new toy, i really just couldnt be bothered.  not sure if its a phase as it's never happened to me before, but i honestly dont feel like bothering with toys at the moment.

anyone else ever experienced this?
