.Tell ya what, I'm actually going to Zags this week, I'll pass an eye over it for free if I can while I'm there!

Thanks but it's not there it's at MetroTraders until Wednesday.
The service manager at Zagamies has nothing to hide.

I could pay $600 to check it out but they only serviced it 2 months ago so their opinion should be fine.

I'd be happy to pay someone who knows these cars a few hundred to have a look at it but there's not much time.

Trusting Zagamies ?

I spoke to the service manager, he has nothing to gain by lying, he knew the ex owner by name, it had a major service 2 months ago and he says the car is good, what more can you want ?

Zagamies would look pretty sick of they gave advice like that lightly, and for what ? they arent selling it, they have nothing to gain and everything to lose by lying.

I spoke to the service manager, he has nothing to gain by lying, he knew the ex owner by name, it had a major service 2 months ago and he says the car is good, what more can you want ?

What if in the last 2 months since it's had it's service, the car blew the engine and now it's just patched up?
We are just playing devil's advocate, since we have seen this scenario many times in the past, and a lot of those times it ended up in tears. Why take the chance for a few hundred bucks?

Most likely the car is right, but "what if"?

Trusting Zagamies ?

If you would have dealt with Zagame's service departments, you would find this statement hillarious too.

I am not going to comment on what it's happened to other people on this board, but these are MY experiences with Zagame service departments:

- they cracked my windscreen working on my binnacle, then they tried to say they won't pay for it because I 'hurried' them in doing the job
- they did a clutch job and they fitted it "by eye" instead of the service manual specifications, and then they presented the car to me without it being able to change gears
- they replaced a broken gear, and when they put the tranny back together, gears were rubbing
- they returned the car to me with loose wheel bolts, missing screws from the underbody and with new parts fitted without the required gaskets

Oh yeah, this was a good one - after replacing a gearbox broken bracket, they only re-fitted the gearbox mounts on one side, so the gearbox was sitting lopsided.

Or how about when after a service, they put the left side of the car on the hardest setting on the adjustable shocks, and the right side on the softest, so as I left them, in the first fast corner I took, I nearly ended up in the wall.

And just so you know this wasn't isolated, my experiences with them include 3 exotics and two DD.

This is Zag Lotus:

Car booked in to replace a dash button.
Me: "take care with the windscreen when removing the binnacle"
Them: "don't worry, we can handle it"
5 minutes later as I wait i the waiting room:
Them: "Uhmm, we broke the windscreen."
Me: "What the f**k??!! Better order a new one and replace it straight away!"
Them: "Uhmm, we don't think we are liable for it, as we  felt pressured by you waiting here"

Anyway, they did pay/replace it after a big screaming match.
