The sound track in the 4.7 ltr sequential is just EPIC. One of the very best sounding V8's that I have ever heard. Leaves the 430 Ferrari version for dead.

Really?  Massive upgrade from the first then, cos the whole weekend in and around it I don't remember a single noise it made.  The couple local ones I've only heard pottering past in traffic.

I think I remember you mentioning that its much louder in a 'sport' mode?
I have heard two of these, one in traffic, one under throttle, and the sound was unbelievable... I assumed the one in traffic was in the 'louder' setting, as it also sounded fantastic...

It is a totally different engine, the same as the one fitted to the 8C Alfa. Read any test of that or watch any YouTube video, they rave about the sound.

The whole car is very different to the 4.2 ltr slush box. The 4.7 ltr oozes character and charisma, the old 4.2 ltr was just dull and lacking in personality.

Yup, the car is as quiet as the old 4.2 ltr in "normal" mode which is what the car defaults to when you start up. Hit the "sport" mode and the gates of hell open. It is seriously, seriously loud. When cruising on the freeway it's too boomy on "sport" so you turn it off and instantly it's limo quiet. It's a really great feature.

Beautiful looking car indeed and the sound is great.  :melting:

On the otherhand, the GranCabrio really doesn't do it for me

When they start one up at Zagames you immediately spin around to look, just fabulous note, different to the Ferrari's but just as distinctive.

And one of the best looking cars on earth in my opinion.

Too big in my opinion for city driving but perfect in every other sense.

Interesting to note that even the 4.7S isn't as fast as the 4200 GT, lighter body makes the difference I guess.
