My good friend has one of the 7 Aussies delivered Shamals. It was at MotoClassica last year on display. It is a real hoot to drive. Very enjoyable and with unique brutish looks. I like it a lot as a driving car! I also have the only Maser Quattroporte IV 6 speed manual V8 (1998) in Australia and bang for buck it leaves the 550, 360CS, C43, E55, Ruf 911 and other modern "badge" cars I have owned (or own) in the weeds. (Caveat: Personal opinion only). It took along time but they got the biturbo thing sorted right at the end after a decade of poor quality and reliability.

Ray Gulson has one for sale...but he is on drugs with regards to asking price...if you find one it is paramount to ensure they have not been crashed as they are handful in the wet.

The Merak is a completely different kettle of fish.

IMHO, yes, the GT4 is a better car to drive and to live with. It is not better looking though.
