I have a problem with Ferrari prostituting their brand and it's history. The California is aimed squarely at a buyer who has NFI, typically a female who would normally drive a 500 SL.

Hahhaa. Sorry just read this. I've been driving both over the last 2 weeks as a client who's out of town has left me their keys.

I feel a little emasculated now    :)
C'mon, do it!

It's too big. I'd take the Cali.

I agree they are too big, beautiful car but BIG and dont handle too well from what I've heard.
The Cali however doesnt seem like it appears after all, womans car ???

You couldnt tell from the look of it - very similar to the 599

BIG aspect comes predominately from its lenght. To put it into perspective, key dimensions for each

M:   L=4881 W=1915 H=1380 We=1887kg

F:    L=4563 W=1902 H=1308 We=1735kg

M - Not much longer than a 211 E class which fiitted in my garage, shorter than a QP ....FARK - just realised the Commodore is longer at 4894 !!! now thats a surprise.

Maybe the GT isnt as big as it looks.....

The main differences between the Cali and the Masa would be performance and handling I presume.

Ahh yes the dimensions problem is with the width, wider than all the above and thats where the size problem is.

The Maserati is on a QP platform and as such is a real 4 seater. The Cali, apart from being a POS, is a fake 4
seater only being usable for kids under six and dble amputees.

I don't recall the Cali being that bad, very few coupes have any decent rear leg room, Masa GS was ok really, probably as much room there or more then the back of a C63 4 door which I found to be surprisingly tight.

I always thought of the Cali as a 599 without a top.

I always saw the cali as a girls car, a sort of 'Barbie car" if you like, where as the 599 is a more serious, and a little bit scarier, with the big V12, more power, two seats etc. Having worked on/witnessed both worked on, I would take the grandcab.

Has about the same acceleration as the 599, of course the 599 would be more aggressive BUT I never thought of any Ferrari as a girls car but you aren't the only one with that opinion it seems.

A California has about the same acceleration as a 599 ?  You're kidding surely.

The 599 was the first production Ferrari touted to be as fast as the F40 by the factory themselves.

0=100 3.7 V 3.9 according to Wikipedia.

I would have thought the gap was more than that .....

added - that cant be right ?
