Got a public relations email from mazza oz (atico) saying how their genuine masserati parts are at the same price as non genuine maserati parts and their parts are much better quality as well

Sorry maserati oz, you lost me as a customer when you wanted nearly $9k for a throttle body part that cost me less than $2k out of Italy and England.     Also Volvo uses the same throttle body except it has a different program installed in it and they are $700 new from Volvo Australia, a much more reasonable price than $9k.

Oh maserati  you make me laugh.... They must be on crack or something???

So you could buy the Volvo part for $700 and change the program... great business for someone selling them to Australian Maserati owners as brand new for $5k each

In theory you are meant to be able to, no one in aus has done it though to my knowledge.  2000-2005 Volvo s40- s70 from memory use the same physical unit.  If Volvo can resell the same milli miglia ( think that is how it is spelt) part for $700, then $9000 is crazy.       I just love how they send out the email. I will post it up when I get home on Sunday. Italian Internet is crappy slow.

Lol I'm in Verona right now.... Italy and morality????? Have you even seen Italian tv???? It's just soft core porn. Not that I'm complaining but I saw a show ( sort of like a game show but not really, hard to explain), had this drop dead gorgeous model in a bikini top and  g-banger  trying to catch hotdogs and whipped cream with her mouth for no apparent reason.     You can so tell that the tv networks are run by a sex craved rich old man lol.

Also I may have gotten aroused and did I mention I love Italian tv now????   Saves on my Internet downloads and computer viruses lol.

Sorry I may have exaggerated a little. When the issue first happened they quoted $6500 or something similar, a month later to go back and get them to fix the car they said the factory is now charging an extra 25% for parts so they have to pass on the increase to $8500 + $500 fitting. How a difference of 25% increase on $6500 at the factory in Italy blows out to 35% ( very rough round figures) increase in Australia still puzzles me.

What I do know is the Mediterranean countries on the verge of financial collapse should get masserati working on getting their national economies back to surplus levels.

Also double lol at the $500 they want to charge for literally 10 minutes work unbolting the old Tb, bolting up the new one and simply connecting an electrical harness, then checking the car through the sd2/3 diagnostics computer to clear the fault codes and see if any new faults come back ( another 10 mins work).   $500 for 20 minutes work, and to think the real elitist top barristers in the USA and Uk can't even earn that much for 20 mins work 99% of the time lol.       This is why I found the email so funny. I guess a lot of people here may not have had this experience yet lol.    Or maybe we arnt all surprised by Maseratis actions anymore?????     It really seems like their PR/marketing department and mechanicals side have no idea what the other is doing.
