Not crazy at all if you know the story behind the so called "1965 GTO". They were a cheater car built by Ferrari in an attempt to get around the requirement to build a certain number of production versions in order for the model to be homologated for racing. They claimed a relationship to the 275 production cars, where virtually nothing was the same between them. They are uber, uber rare and all are different.
If Preston Henn's car ever hit the market it would set a new world record price for the most expensive car sold.

Michael Sheehan did a great article on these years ago. I'll dig around later and see if I can find it.
