Public Auction for Numeric number plates

The Registrar of Motor Vehicles has called a public auction for the sale of 40 Numeric number plates.

Numeric number plates include South Australia's original number plates issued from 1906 to 1966 from the number 1 to 599 999 and the additional series 600 000 to 999 999.

Invest in a rare piece of history when 40 South Australian number plates go up for Auction at the 2009 South Australian Numeric Plates Auction.

How to be part of the auction

For further information contact auctioneers Evans Clarke National on 8345 0099. View their terms and conditions.

Registration - you will need to register your place to attend the auction with the auctioneers.

The Numeric plate catalogue will be available online soon.

Number Plate Specifications

    * Colour: White numbers on black background
    * Dimensions: Plates are the same size front and rear
      Plates will be issued at auction in the following sizes:
          o Up to 3 digits (190 x 134mm)
          o 4 digits (315 x 134mm)
          o 5 - 6 digits (371 x 134mm)
          o Alternative sizes can be ordered at an additional cost after the event
    * Rights: Issued with Class Specific Rights at auction

Class Specific Rights - Issued when Numeric number plates are sold by auction. Class Specific Rights allows the holder to re-allocate the number plate to another vehicle registered in the same name. Number plates may be sold and transferred to another individual upon payment of a transfer fee.

Plates issued prior to January 1st 2008

Restricted Rights - To be eligible to apply for Restricted Rights, the numeric number plate must be the last number allocated to the vehicle and the owner is the last registered owner/operator of the vehicle. Restricted Rights may be granted to a new owner at the discretion of the Registrar where special circumstances apply i.e. to the beneficiary of a deceased estate. Once the vehicle is transferred to a new owner, the restricted rights are lost. Any further enquiries email DTEI:Enquiries@saugov.sa.gov.au.

No, there's nothing there I want.  Last time it was easy because they listed very specific numbers (to match some mobiles)  that I had enquired about before and I was able to win them.  Fairly random lot  this time - not as good as last time.  I've got more plates than cars so I probably won't bother going.
