There were a few bidding but some did not reach reserve. 988 went for $19,500 and sold then 229 sold for $21,500 but 827 got up to $17,000 and did not sell. Then the GP black plate 123 sold for $8,550 and GP black plate 128 sold for $6,300. Seemed that more people were looking to see and some trying to get a bargain. Overall the sales of all plates exceeded $600,000.

199.

Doesn't really explain the fact that 999 was for sale, however...

Any of the Grand Prix plates are allowed to be sold. They were wrong when they told people they cant be.

A friend has a higher number, he's had it from new and never used it on a car. When he went to use it they told him he couldnt use it or sell it. He read them the riot act and they said sorry sir, our mistake.

Sorry my mistake, he had used it on a car but it would have been over ten years since it has been used.
