I know. It was an SP. High wing, whatever the racing drivers name was. Brand new, sitting in the showroom. I just didn't like the navy.

SP brand new late 90's four years after run sold out?

I'd be surprised if they were available late 90's brand new, if there were any floor stock anywhere I searched and would have had an SP instead of a regular FD

You are thinking of the standard road car then. The SP was a racer from 1995, very short low volume local run at $107k.

only 28 made I believe

the SP II would be the one to get.  Only 1 made

Forgot about the SP2. I think they only made one for the factory Targa Tasmania effort.

1998 to be exact. Car was sitting in the showroom of Brighton Mazda. I remember every detail ' it was on the left of the showroom, near the window, facing Nepean Hwy. I loved the high wing and the fact that it was a limited rdition. But I always hated navy in sports cars. I always viewed that as a sedan colour.
I even remember that the salesman told me he had a deposit on the car but then the sale fell through because the Russian buyer had difficulty driving manual.
You make something idiotproof, they'll make a better idiot.

Brighton Lexus has a brand new yellow LFA in the showroom even though they all "sold out" years ago.

LFA's were still available new in the showroom last year in the US. Still might be 1 or 2 available there.

The guy with the white SP2 isnt selling, great looking car. The SP were pretty much pre-sold. If there was one available new it was probably a car a dealer kept as a collectible and decided to get rid of.

Thay were $107k new and this example was probably the best of the best left today.
My initial comment was on the heritage plates though.

That example was pretty average condition. Full respray, front end accident repairs. Interior was tired also. Wasn't worth $88k

I know of another one that's pretty much showroom condition, Completely original with 18k kms and log books.
Not for sale though.
