Those hoses are the lazy plumbers way of doing things, I hate them!!

Do it properly with copper pipe and you never have any problems!!

The way their installed can stuff them up as well.  I had one let go in the ensuite when the house was only two years old.  I went through and replaced all of them.  Just check them for any surface rust.

Bathrooms used to require a floor waste. Now if the basin and bath are fitted with overflows they are no longer required to fit them which saves the builder money. I would still fit a floor waste in any wet area to avoid this damage.

+1

however, many floor wastes ( and for some reason, usually the ones upstairs) are blocked up with debris from lazy tilers not covering them to stop screed, adhesive and grout getting into them.

That must be the same rubble that we install into Spa baths to block the jets. The number of times we have had to remove building rubble from blocked spa jets and then be told by Mr Plumber that he has put in hundreds of these and it has never happened before so we must have done it at the factory.

The Sydney rep had to go to job one day to unblock a spa jet and found a used condom in it. The two males in the house said they wondered what happened to that.

while on that kind of topic, rumour has it that Juliar and Timmy have split and Juliar has moved into her new place with a woman.
