I can understand your comment, but you should try it before you dismiss it...

It's actually better than it looks..... and the science of oval track racing and car set up is very intersting indeed. (The secret to a good lap time at Queensland raceway is to set up using some oval racing tips)

i know in nascar its very technical behind the scenes with the set ups, tires and things like camber etc etc. but for a spectator sport it isnt exactly exciting as f1 like compare the final laps in 08 at spa between hamilton and raikonnen to some americans racing around in circles and occasionally there will be something that gets your attension like a good overtake or crash.

So 43 cars lapping within 1/2 a second of each other and passing several times a lap is less interesting than an open wheel procession? OK, the cars themselves are pretty boring to look at. Lapping 2.5 mile Daytona track in 45 seconds (ave. 200mp/h) nose to tail is spectacular. I used to think it was crap until there was nothing else to watch on Foxtel - now I'm a convert.

I've only seen bits n pieces when at the pub or whatever - but I find the ways they are augmenting the vision in sports on US teevee and the stats are fascinating.

Gotta go watch Days of Thunder :burnout:
