So 43 cars lapping within 1/2 a second of each other and passing several times a lap is less interesting than an open wheel procession? OK, the cars themselves are pretty boring to look at. Lapping 2.5 mile Daytona track in 45 seconds (ave. 200mp/h) nose to tail is spectacular. I used to think it was crap until there was nothing else to watch on Foxtel - now I'm a convert.

foxtel does that to you...
Used to watch the nascars a fair bit, only catch the odd race on one on the weekends now.

I've only seen bits n pieces when at the pub or whatever - but I find the ways they are augmenting the vision in sports on US teevee and the stats are fascinating.

Gotta go watch Days of Thunder :burnout:

I was surprised at the live stats/timing. For the single car qualifying you can see where they are in the field at any given stage (where each cas strength and weaknesses are)

but would you want to watch nascars racing together around daytona or watch something like hamilton and raikkonen at spa again? and is nascar your cant race in the rain but in f1 you can race in all conditions. althought nascar is very impressive with the speed but it lacks the excitment that f1 has.

you're a day early... but probably right anyway

speaking of anniversaries...

I've been married 8 years as of 28th Dec.. it's Bronze anniversary...

I've some how managed to be a very good boy lately...

I remembered the anniversary

I got an antique Tiffany lamp.. in Bronze, for MOWAF (minister of war and finance), which she loves

I seleced the correct variety of tea to make her.. she has at least 15 different ones and I ALWAYS ask first (learnt).. but yesterday I guessed...and got it right!

And today I came home from Dick Smith with a $68 turntable and tuner... we have a few old vinyls but no deck... so i got one today and again.. she loves it!

I'm quitting now, while I'm ahead... tonight could get real ugly when all the luck runs out while tipsy...  :scared:
