You should make it warm, and has to be consumed before 11pm so it's in tune with the transaction.

And 5 beers for the funny man

I use XYLO which is a division of WBC, The rate spread is very thin with them. Might be worth a call if you bank with WBC.

Another thing to note. With OFX and CurrencyFair I always call up for a better rate if you are looking to exchange a decent sum. The standard web rate is negotiable.

I used to have a Visa card that was Fee Free and get a great exchange rate................not any more. I see they are charging a pretty hefty fee now for purchases in international currencies.  :(

28degrees is still the visa card of choice for this
no fees at all, official mastercard forex rate, which is very very close to the market rate
They did change the rules about it for cash withdrawals, which used to also be fee free if you had 'overpaid' your card so it was in debit.

If you want fee free withdrawals from any ATM in the local currency at the visa exchange rate, you need a citibank plus debit card

Both have long detailed discussions on whirlpool about how to apply etc.

Probably wont help with this specific problem though unless you can wait and be bothered applying

But when the merchant wants a funds transfer in GBP, not a credit card?
