Hasn't changed my opinion of Ali at all. But I have read and watched a lot about him.

Ali was a supreme intelligence among boxers, and in the 70's and in fighting, you just use any means you had to win.

There was nothing stopping his opponents from doing the same to him, they just couldn't.

I like dominance. I like/d Vettel/Schuey/Senna/Mansell for their dominance.

It's a privilege and a highly educational experience to witness dominance.

Dominance is good, it inspires others to be better.

You need to watch it though it's long.

Ali was a prick, Frasier was a better fighter, they stopped the fight gave it to Ali but 20 seconds later he couldn't even stand up so if they had have sent them to their corners Ali wouldn't have come out.

It's changed my opinion, if you havent watched it perhaps you should.

I have seen it before, and am watching again now.

This is just one opponent.

YES, Ali was a prick professionally, but he was a fighter, and he was dominant, and he was the best.

Frazier was a great fighter, but Ali was better.

Have you seen the Will Smith "Ali" movie... It's very good.

And there was a very good documentary some time ago too.

Saw that but this is differnet, SBS doesn't fuck around, this is the real story.
I always was a big Ali fan but this has made me think'again.
Theres other stuff in there too, Frasier now lives in a small room above a gym in a run down town.
Who would believe it after all he acheived.

Added = did live .......he died  on Nov 7th this year, heard nothing about it.

this sbs doco is just angled and contexed differently than some, to create a "new" angle.

The facts and stats stay the same. Ali was the best.

The very fact Frazier died unknown underlines it.

Ali was simply so smart. He played the long game when needed... he'd suck the energy and life out of fighters like Frazier. he was so mentally strong and disciplined, he'd stick to his plan if he knew was could be out fought, he'd out think.

Finished watching that doco... was interesting, but clearly heavily biased as a frazier camp memoir...

even so, Ali comes out of it as a winner IMO.

Ali spruiked his fights with his mouth, raised the purse, his opponents loved and needed him for that.
