Take a job, maybe even a shitty one. Show you can work hard and deal with tough situations and it'll help you in future.

I think we have a life advice/mentory thread somewhere, will have to find it...

In the mean-time - a blog post for those aspiring to find direction:

http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2011/09/29/8-steps-to-getting-what-you-want-without-formal-credentials/

There's a bunch of fluff and standard stuff in there that isn't too practical, but if you're smart enough you can filter out and get the take-away ideas from it which is pretty much what Al said above in long-form.

After a very difficult period in my life I'm taking a break...effectively my long service leave - to recharge my batteries and get my shit together. I make no apologies for that and I assure you I'm not taking the piss.

As for 4 hour week, I'm halfway through reading it at the moment.

Cheers to all for the feedback and comments.

It's not specifically the 4HWW I was linking to - I read that one too, lots of great concepts but again some airy fairy impractical stuff - the blog post is unrelated and about making yourself a commodity and finding direction over time.

Ask for advice in an open forum and you'll get some honest responses.

No-one's asking you to apologise, but you'll get more good advice if you stop procrastinating and get amongst it.
C'mon, do it!
