Ok, I get pissed off sometimes with so much spam flooding in, but occasionally I have to laugh.

Just received several with this eloquent subject:

Anyone else sometimes see the funny side of all this rubbish?

$4,800/month?  Is that a good price for your integrity?  I don't know what the going rate is these days.  :)

what's MLM.

Multi-Level Marketing, sort of pyramid or Ponzi schemes - most well-known one is Amway.  Basically, if you sell something you get paid for the sale, but if you recruit someone and *they* sell something, you get a percentage.  And then if they recruit someone else and they sell something, you get a smaller percentage, etc etc.  It only works if you're in the top couple levels and get all the schmucks below you to do all the work - known as having a "downline" I think.

Very dodgy stuff, people become like they're in a cult trying to recruit you because of course, they get a cut of whatever you bring in, and a cut of whatever is brought in by someone you bring in etc etc.

I would just like to make a correction here, Amway is not a Pyramid scheme.
Don't get me wrong, I am not going into bat for Amway, I have seen many people get swept up in it and it has not been pretty.
People can and do end up losing friends out of it. It is almost like a Cult, very scary.

But the Amway scheme is called "Networking". I have had enough so called friends try to reel me in that I have seen the "Plan" as they call it.
It was huge in the 90's.

Instead of a Pyramid, it has like "Cells". Once you grow this it a point you then become the top of your group, breaking away from the group you were in.
The idea works well, if you are a good salesman, but in the sell they try to tell you that you can quit your job once this is up and running.
But the guys I have seen doing this have just taken on a second job, it's a lot of work.

I know a couple of people who are quite rich from this but then again I have seen quite a lot that have failed.

I am in no way defending this, no way at all. And if someone comes up to you and says that they have a way of making money for little input and they want to show you "The Plan" - run like hell and don't look back.   :scared:

Doesn't work like that - the way MLMs advertise is by saying you can make $xxxx in the first month then double the next month etc etc, all you have to do is either sell enough stuff or recruit enough other suckers who sell stuff and recruit others.

If someone offered me $4800 p/m straight out just to advertise, you'd have to wonder what the hell was so good to be seen on a tiny site like this.

That's what I was trying to work out, how does a MLM take advantage of someone elses website?
