Hi,
I am importing a Evo 8 into Brisbane. Anyone here can recommend me a workshop that can arrange for the car to be picked up from the port and also get the compliance done.

1)Any Idea how much it would cost?
2) how do I bring it in and this car is being brought it for resale..

Its a full Varis Car and body is seam welded and comes with full Bride Interior.

if anyone is looking @ evo 8  , do let me know too.

Just need to know ho I can bring it in as how the dealers do.

Thanks

You are a brave lad if you've just stuck it on a boat and nothing else.

I hope that your car falls in to this category, otherwise you'll be sending it back.

I know QLD's mod laws are more lenient, but you're going to have trouble getting a car with a full varis kit through compliance.
and since it's seam welded... may i assume a cage ? also a big no no

Your bride seats etc. will all need to be ADR approved (a lot of them aren't) and it should have the standard momo wheel with the airbag in addition to replacing seatbelts etc. (if it has harnesses, lose them for compliance and take out the harness bar if it has it)

if you haven't bought this thing yet, i'd hold off and make some calls. Its sounding a lot like a 'race only' import.

Thanks for pointing out all the points and I guess I would need to get the parts settled. I got the Vehicle Import Approval and suprisngl it only took a couple of days.

I am looking for a company that can get the approval done.

Roll cage is not in and car looks stock with most stock parts in. The Varis Kit is still on the car and I would most probably get the air bag momo steering wheel fixed into the car.
