in the last few weeks ive experienced a lot of bad customer service.

for example, before christmas i went into David Jones to buy a watch, the one they had there had sold so i asked them to order one in for me. no problems, will be here within a week, we will call you when its in.
so this week i hadnt heard anything (about 3 weeks later) so called on monday, where the girl said "no its not here" without checking, and it would definitly be here by the end of the week. it was obvious she was brushing me off. so wednesday i called again, spoke to a lady and she said she would trace it for me and call me back that arvo. no call.... so yesterday night i went in there, spoke to the watch manager who blah blah blah.... sorry.... blah blah blah... i will get this other guy who does expediting to call you tomorrow. i garuntee it. so today... no call. i go in there and speak to the store manager of David Jones wanting to know.. where the hell my watch is.  i get the usual... omg i cant believe they didnt call... oh im so sorry etc...

so still waiting for the damn watch.

it seems that this kindof experience is becoming more and more common. im the kind of person who would rather pay a bit more and get good quality old fashion service.

why is it so hard for people to put any effort in.

Try going to a smaller specialist watch store/jeweller. I can't stand dealing with massive chains for things they don't specialize in... It might cost abit more but you'll get much better service in a jeweller than a chain.

generally i would have, but they were the only shop i could find with this specific model, and no one who deals with this brand would order it in for me

Yep, I've lost my respect for the DJ's customer service ever since they moved to the new building. It's really shit. They never have enough people, never help you out, have bad manners and always keep you waiting.

Recently I bought a suit from them, not a cheap one either, and I got a tie to go with it. Let's just say I really liked the tie. I had some new looking guy help me with it and then when he saw that I was seriously considering it he got some older more experienced guy to help me out. So anyway after I tried it I told him I couldn't buy it that day so I asked them to put it on hold for 1 week. So the guys puts it in a bag WITH the tie.

1 week later, I go back and I go to the new looking guy that first helped me out and he sort of looked like he was really reluctant to help me and was showing strong body language that he wanted to get out of there. So anyway, the older experienced guy comes along looking all enthusiastic and excited that he's about to sell the suit and said he will go to the store room to get it. He comes out with the bag and zips it open. Suit is there, but no tie. He paused looking confused and then looked at the piece of paper with all the put-on-hold information on it and sees that it has 1 suit and 1 tie written on it. He tells us there is no tie and goes of to check the store room again and comes back with nothing.

I was really annoyed about it and kept asking questions on how this could possibly happen especially since they had been in the same bag but the suit was still there. He got a bit embarassed about the whole thing and just kept constantly apologising. Eventually he just came out and said that sometimes the employees take them and buy them for themselves.

I never got to the answer, but my strong suspicion was it was the new looking guy who took it because he helped me pick it out and he was so over-enthusiastic about it. He was also really keen to help me find a suit and to help me out in general and then when I went in the second time he avoided me, so that's why I thought it was him.

DJ's service is shit, simple.
