So, Docklands are having fireworks every friday in July I was told, and last night we took the 3 kids to go and see them.

We parked up at just before 6pm, thinking we'd get a feed before the show, then go home.

We arrived on the Docks, and Dock 31 presented itself to us, seemed right. Nice and early, wasn't very busy... perfect... or so we thought.

So, we waited maybe 5 minutes to even be greeted... already not happy...

a further minute or two to be shown to a table....

Menus arrived shortly after and we ordered at 6.08pm.......

Kids spaghetti, and a steak for me and Orange Ruffie for my wife. Drinks ordered too. Said to the lad the kids were hungry already, so bring the spaghetti asap...... Lad said nothing...

About 20 minutes later, we finally get 3 drinks for the kids, but not the adults...... keep waiting......

waiting.......

waiting.....

By now, the restaurant is filling fast...

At 6.45 I go and ask at the counter if the spaghetti could be hurried, as by now the kids are getting starved........ Still no adult drinks BTW.... The young girl is happy enough to help, but gives no answers.

About 6.50 I go and find manager "John", and VERY politely, by ANY standards, never mind my own usual standards.... say to him, "Could i offer some constructive crtisicism and say that if you can't feed your seats, then maybe reduce the number of seats available"

he stares right through me as if I'm not there. No reaction or comment at all. Then walks away, leaving me to wonder if he just had to attend to something but is coming back... he doesn't.

I return to the table and sit a while longer, stewing.....

At 6.55 I decide to see John again, to see if he has anything to say.... and ask for our drinks at least.....

The look he gives me before I say anything decides my next course of action.... I say to him, we're leaving, due mainly to his attitude, but that the service is appalling anyway. I'm not paying for the kids drinks either.

He simply asks where we were sitting.

I tell him, and leave with the family, telling ALL adjacent tables what has happened. Some of them leave too.

Was I reasonable, or not?

BTW, We went to the gourmet burger place nearby, got served instantly some delicious healthy chicken burgers, saw the fireworks and went home happy and full.

Lousy pricks, you have to wonder how they stay in business.

That web site comes #4 on Google organic results for the term restaurant reviews Melbourne so this should have an effect.

Just noticed you can recommend any review so I just went through and did the bad ones, I guess you could clear your cookies and not like it multiple times but there should be enough people in here to shake them up.

Quite a lot don't like it.
