Ok, so I've got 3 under 5, so I get a good one!

But for thrills... I did some heavy duty gardening.

I hired a Kanga loader to clear an old shed to make way for a new one.

It broke down... the heat from the exhaust melted the starter wiring, so whenever I turned it off, it just kept starting itself up again.

it was funny,

until it caught fire. Then I got shitty with it. I only got 4 hours use in 2 days. I left it cranking itself into a frenzy, parked back on the trailer, smouldering. Until it spluttered and died.

Sooo, seeing as the site wasn't fully cleared, I decided to have a bonfire to clear the last debris...

it was mainly green vegetation... so to "accelerate" it, i used a little petrol. Actually, a little too much petrol.

I now have my right hand and forearm wrapped up and scratches on my face from the KABOOM!

My eyelashes have curled into a velcro like state where they catch on each other.

Oh well, happy fathers day to me!

Even the smartest of us can be pretty stupid at times!!!!!!

I hope this teaches you a lesson young man, you must have been told not to play with matches on the past!!!!

Isn't this one of those things that gets forwarded around in an email so we can all laugh at someone else's misfortune?  Or did this really happen to you?

Ha, I LOL'd too... but yes, I REALLY did do it!

Incredible amount of energy in just a couple of litres of petrol.... scary to think we carry ~80-100 L of the stuff in our cars!

The digger breakdown was comical.... It was like an argument... "turn off ya bastard... NO, TURN OFF.... NO, right, thats it, I WARNED YOU.. *violent switch flicking ensued*" It stopped.

I walked away then it started itself up again! BASTARD!

Then it smouldered to the point where it took 3 buckets of water to stop. All the time it kept trying to start itself until finally it cranked its last half crank.

The bonfire.. YES, Lesson learned.. patience! Let the green stuff die off THEN have the bonfire! I just wanted to get site fully cleared as time off costs me money!

So anyway....

The face healed in about 5 days. Totally cleared up.

I took the hand dressing off on Monday night... 9 days after, and it was all healed over.

Today, 12 days after the event. You can hardly tell. Hand is a bit pink, arm has some small blotches. Arm hairs all grown back to about 50% of ther arm.

Incredible speed of recovery and healing.

Should be totally un spottable in about 2 more weeks.

Still ugly as a hatful - but same thing with RobH, we got that email saying he'd been seriously burned in some acetylene explosion, had dinner with him a few weeks later and not a trace - even had a full 'stouche! :p
