This is a damaged header pipe from an Arrow 1050 SP3.

Blank off one end of the pipe and connect the other end to a water pressure pump.
I use this system to hydro form two-stroke pipes many years ago. Pump 400psi into the pipe and you can tap it like it has a dolly on the inside; gently tap around the dent until it comes out.

Finished. After a quick linish and a buff it looks like new again.

Have you tried with just air pressure too?

A little gentle heat and as little as 8 bar is all you might need.

Easy to rig up a schraeder valve too, and inflate using tyre gear.

No thanks that shit is dangerous, when the end cap pops out at 400psi water pressure it is not as bad as you may think, do the same with air pressure and it would take your face off!.

Whattyou talkin' 'bout Willis

8 bar is less than half, almost only a third of the pressure you're using.

And a split or pin hole with a 400psi jet of water in your eye is not a good day.

It's probably safer, and anyway, end cap is tacked on generally.

Phil I have been doing pipes this way for over 25 years, water does not compress it is solid and makes pressure easy in a few pumps, when that pressure is released it doesn’t take much volume to lose the pressure. Air is totally the opposite. You need to have enough pressure inside and water works best as it is solid.

I'm with ya, but I know a guy that does it either way.

If you pressure with argon, you can bleed off and weld as you go if needed, as the argon is the purge gas.

Argon and compressed air cost money to use, water is free, some guys just put the part in the freezer that also works for small dings.
