what if you're someone who has no interest in track driving but enjoys a 'seat of the pants' driving experience?
go to the go karts.

Seat of pants driving at current legal and appropriate speeds is boring, uncomfortable, noisy, draughty, anti social, and in this car you can't even take a passenger which statistically means you'll drive it more dangerously.

You have to break the law to have fun in a car like that.

So either change the law or drive accordingly.

Dont get me wrong though I love this car its the law I think is an ass.

But it is what it is.

And this car is a compromised neither this nor that car.

And how many seat of pants seeking drivers are not interested in track driving?

track driving is good on occasion to stretch the legs and have some fun,  but i for one am not competitive, and couldnt give 2 $#!ts about how fast my lap time is, or want to spend countless hours going in the same circle.
a fantastic mountain road is so much nicer :D  (to me that is, we're all different of course)

but how cool would it be to have something like this on one of those days when you're sitting at home bored the sun is out and you want to just pop out to the hills for a bit of downtime,  a great way to do it in my mind. a go-kart is kind of like a race car scenario, its not something i can just walk out to the garage and use when it suits me.

The Americans registered one of those $15k car race cars a few days ago, that would do me, plus it can be a 2 seater so you can scare a friend as well. I dont need speed on a nice road thru some hills. I like gliding at a good pace and enjoying the scenery.
