got 5 days free (allow 2 days for travelling so 3 days in one place) starting from Calgary airport before going to colorado.

I would have said NYC, you can see a fair bit in 3 days, and given it's winter it's a pretty good time of year (ice skatiing, snow in central park etc). Don't think you'll find 3 days worth of stuff in Niagara (unless you base yourself in Toronto and do a day trip to Niagara). Maybe Vancouver, or SF.

it'll be plenty with a 14, 12 and 6 year old.

Already doing Disneyland, LA, San Fran, Lake Louise and Colorado.
