Not sure if they are classed as micro cars or economy cars, but the best tiny car I have driven was the Nissan Micra, 2nd was Fiat Panda as they are decent off roaders lol. Rental cars always go offroad for one reason or another.
I did some good off road driving in a Fiat Panda in Samos, a Greek island. The look on the old farmers face when we came us this track with him going the other way on his Donkey was priceless.

Last week I did 600kms in a brand new Fiesta. WOW they have changed in the last 15 years! That was the last time I drove one, when I had a fleet of Festivas for my security company. They were JUNK, but reliable.
This Feista last week though - it was great. I was driving the whole way at 140-160km/h, no wind noise what to speak off and seamsless gear changes and you could only hear the engine, just, when you'd floor it. Not once did I feel like it was too slow/not powerful enough for the job. Impressed. It was the 1.6 Auto.
You make something idiotproof, they'll make a better idiot.

Hired a car a year or so ago and ended up being given a Hyundai Santa Fe.
Now as a round-the-city hack this was very good. Had all the fruit on it, leather interior, dual a/c etc. Diesel engine with heaps of torque. Good visibility, in fact nice everything. And the best thing was you could park it anywhere. Not like a Beemer or Benz where you crap yourself every time you park it in a back street.

I tend to agree with whoever said the Koreans will take over in the medium market. Good product for the dollar spent.
Look at the gains they have made on Hyundai and Kia in 5 years.

I love the M5 but I have had to call the tow truck a few times which my friends with lesser cars never do.

Ah the agony and the ecstasy.

:waah:

Yes I forgot to mention I much rather the Kia Rio over any Hyundai hatchback
You can say I'm wrong, but my garage doesn't agree with that statement!!!

I did 900km in my Getz yesterday, and 850km in it on thursday.

I love it to bits, it's nippy and agile, quiet enough, comfortable and roomy, air works perfectly.

I do have a slight wheel shimmy at high speed which made my wrist ache after 6 hours at high speed non stop. But that's my fault, not the cars.

A part!, I needed a part for my Getz!

After 8 years and over 120,000km, the bloody thing needed a whole new battery!

That's $70 I'll not get back.....

Gees!

STILL doesn't need any brake pads or anything else, at all.

Yeah Phil but most of actually use the brake pedal rather that shouting out "piss off you idiot"

 :D
