Getting some quotes from china for something I'm having manufactured however they are all quoting FOB to shanghai.

Having never dealt with importing before, how do i get it from their to my door... do i need to organise shipping from shanghai?

How big is the item and how quick do you want it?

it would be a carton, 1000mm x 300mm x 300mm and about 10kg.

not overly urgent.

Sorry, seeing FOB I was thinking it was something big and I may of been able to do something sea freight wise. Your best bet would be TNT or DHL, both should accept credit card bookings

That's a bit odd that they won't dispatch it to your Aussie address. When I was getting a heap of stuff done over there they sent it via DHL straight to my door.

DHL is probably your best bet but be careful what service you ask for, some of the Express services can cost big $$$$$$$s.

Have you asked for a quote to your door from these guys???

And just remember, you have to be very specific with your specs and hammer home the point you do not want cheaper materials........

I've used DHL for china stuff -  I pick up from the depot at the airport

Freight from china is pricey
