channel 7 just played a clip of an audio conversation between some rebels talking about the plane being shot down.
it was meant to be a Ukraine cargo plane.

They shouldn't have been in Ukraine airspace, the US and UK have been avoiding it for months.

maybe, but thousands of planes every week fly through there, as well as over Iraq, Afghanistan etc...

I do feel bad for Malaysia Airlines.
In both incidents, theres a high likelihood that the company is not at fault.

There was certainly some likelihood of fault in the first one as the crew didn't report an unauthorised cockpit visit at the invitation of one of the pilots on an earlier flight. This suggests a poor safety culture.

This recent event certainly doesn't look like the fault of MAS but the combined effect of the two incidents should be enough to kill the airline.
