A Victorian man will reappear in court today, after police found a substantial amount of explosives and items used to make bombs in his home.

32-year-old Phillip John Marsh, from Castlemaine, was charged with recklessly endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and four charges of possessing explosive substances.

He has told an out-of-sessions court hearing in Castlemaine last night that he had no intention of committing terrorism or creating a bomb, he only wanted to make fireworks.

He has been remanded to appear at Bendigo Magistrates Court today.
