Why did I give up?  To feel better for a week, then a month.

*ahem*

...yesterday I notched up 12 months without alcohol... And no, I don't feel any better.  Just soberer.

:p

All of this is true.  Drinkers find non-drinkers make them uncomfortable. I know I used to feel that way about someone who claimed to be enjoying themselves while drinking water.  I think it is because a drinker feels they are being judged by the non-drinker.

Understanding "Drunk" is the only problem.......   :p

   :D

I still don't feel better but I was hungover when it all started so that was my motivation.  I think.

I'm drinking less and less, but I simply cant find anything as nice as a good red to enhance the enjoyment of a nice steak/meal etc.

If there was a non alcoholic red wine that tasted as nice, i'd happily drink that.

I hardly drink beer at all, but sometimes, when extremely hot but not dehydrated, I do like on.

Dont drink spirits at all.

A guiness is always satisfying when I have one, very rarely.

Mhh.... Why the total abstinence? Do you not trust yourself from discipline and control? Or why?

I drink for flavour, not effect.

Not sure - I guess I don't want to kill the thread.  But seriously, I suppose I've lost the taste for it.  I can *just* remember the flavour of wine/beer etc, but don't hanker for it.  Trust and discipline probably aren't the issue after all this time.
