If you use it for some uses you will get caught, if you used It simply to avoid rego fees you might get away with it, if you speed and the ticket goes to the real owner you'll get caught and the penalty would far outweigh any benefit.

Now no way am I condoning this. It is a highly dangerous process.

But how would you get caught???

Unless you put it on your work car with "Fred's Plumbing" signwritten on it.

All they would have is the type of car… eg white Camry wheras the plate belongs to a yellow Nissan.

and while on this subject...

What about speeding in the various tunnels that have cameras.
I, like a lot of you, have a problem with my throttle linkages in tunnels. They seem to just open up by themselves. But before you go in, simply tape a bit of black plastic (or that magnetic stuff) over the number plate. Or even make up a dummy plate out of cardboard and tape it in place. Then fang through as fast as you like making as much noise as you can. Turn around and do it again a few times until it wears off. Who cares how many photos they take. Maybe wear a wig and sun glasses.  Get out the tunnel and remove the plate covering. Stay away from that tunnel for a while if you are driving something unique.

I expect if the police were aware there was duplicate plate out there in a similar car they would just put out an alert to find it, wouldn't take long.

I thought I knew what the "C" stood for when Julia was there, not so sure now. ;)

Why such a long face?

Thats pretty bad, i guess now you should always request a photo for every fine you get in the mail.
Clever idea though.
