It's too hot outside to go to Goob's fave dealer and ask, but has anybody heard when the new Fiat 500 will be on display/available? I'd like to see if the car is as cute as it looks in the pics, or if it just looks fat and bloated in real life.

I like the idea of a Fi'art-In-The-Bath version as another shopping trolley.

When I bought my X off the dude from Ateco last year he said they'll be available around April.  There's a thread on turbo124 about the retail price - it wasn't pretty, I'll dig it up...

base model   Price
1.2 51kW Pop [033]   $22,990
1.4 16v 75kW Pop [035]   $24,990
1.3 JTD 55kW Pop [034]   $25,990
1.4 16v 75kW Sport [085]   $26,990
1.4 16v 75kW Lounge [045]   $27,990

I specced one up and came to about $36k before dealer delivery and on-roads - that's a lotta coin for a little car.

Thanks for the research! So it seems like it is priced as a fashion item, I just hope the build quality matches the premium (for a 50kW car) pricing. I guess there probably wouldn't be a lot of change from $50K once the Abarth comes on line......

Saw it at Melbourne show - cute as hell inside.  It'll sell its head off.  Every girl in town will want one.  Even I do.

They look brilliant. I specced one out last night and was astounded. I went for the dark grey with red interior and a black stripe down the passenger door. Tempted to share it with mum, she's on the hunt for a new car. :)
