Anyone into self-aviation?

It's on my bucket-list to get a licence and eventually a plane, but wondering how many folk just do the flying stuff without owning an aircraft.  Thinking I should start soon and get my experience up.

yeah...i got an unrestricted private pilot's licence with constant speed and retractable endorsements.

it's useless for anything other than fun..and I had lots of it.

For once I can confirm that renting is DEFINITELY the way to go.

I've always thought it'd be cool to learn how to fly, but gliders. It seems to me that there would be more skill involved.

oh i don't know...you should see what you have to be able to do when the motor stops!

very different experience though. a glider is just an awesome experience. i've tried it a few times, but never tried for a licence.

I've never even tried it. It's on my "to do" list though.

What is your preferred flying method, instrument or Visual???

Does the Private license include "instrument" now days or is that another endorsement???
