143mm in an hour. No way to expect this. It shocked everyone. It has never flooded like this in Toowoomba. Everyone around us is feeling it now...

Saw an interview where they admitted their modeling wasn't set up to see the downpours that caused it all , they couldn't see enough detail to detect them.
They were focussed more state wide.

How did the bridges down stream cope with the CityCat terminal? Still enough space under them to clear it?

I was wondering how buildings with basement carparks would cope with water gushing into them. Anybody know or has any photos of basement carparks?

They haven't been operating for over a week now. Some CityCats have even been caught in the current and practically destroyed. The terminals which all been destroyed I heard are worth approximately $10-15million each. So those alone will take a while to be replaced and back into operation.

I'm just so blown away by this, and will now have quite a bit of time to spare as all of my work is based in the city, plus QUT is completely shut down. So with all the time spare, will probably try and go volunteer with sandbagging or clean up.

It rushes down and stays there.

In the Dubbo floods a mont or 2 ago once all the water had gone, they found 87 brown snakes in the underground Big W carpark. So I can only imagine what will be found up there.

I know of a black 670SV that was located in and underground carpark right on the rivers edge. Wait and see I guess.
